We saw a little of the white stuff today. Mattie and Jon Paul were thrilled! St. Nicholas comes tonight...shoes are ready to be filled with chocolates (or coal).

I am on a roll....

(Photo #1) Mattie hanging the second ornament. *God Saves Noah* Genesis 7:1 Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous.

O God, you care for all the animals of your wonderful creation. Care for us, too, in all our daily needs. Amen.

Genesis 6,7,8: 1-9

(Photo #3) Izabelle reading to Mattie and Jon Paul. (Mattie was "hamming it up" for the camera; as usual) The Story of Christmas Advent Calendar.

December 1, 2010

(Photo #1) Izabelle is checking the #1 box to see what activity is planned for today. Read "Elf on a Shelf" and set Bernard out.

(Photo #2) Mattie is putting the first ornament on the Jesse tree. *Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.* Genesis 3:6 She took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate.

As children of Adam and Eve, we are also sinners. In this season of Advent, open us, O God, to Your words of promise - promise of our Savior. Amen

(Photo #3) Trae reading "Elf on a Shelf" to Izabelle and Mattie. Mattie is holding Bernard...our elf.

Tomorrow is December 6...so I am a little behind on posting. I will add more tomorrow night. Until then...

"My Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe"

Before the Thanksgiving holiday....MJCA had a "My Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe" contest. Mattie's recipe went like this:

1. Put the 5 lb. turkey in the pan and cook it.
2. Cook the turkey for 7 seconds at 2 degrees.
3. Take it out of the oven, put it on your plate with some corn, grapes and fish and then eat it!

Bon Appetite!

....and guess what? She won! (She was the winner in her Pre-K class). Too funny! She is pictured below with her prize. She was so proud.

More photos to come. Until then....

First Sunday in Advent...November 28, 2010

Gosh, where did the year go? The last time that I posted was in May. I hope that you are still there. I know my faithful Aunt Cherry and Aunt Susie-Q check in every once in a while... I suppose I should get rid of the sunflowers. *wink*

(Photo) Celebrating the 1st Sunday in Advent. Izabelle lit the first candle while Trae read aloud: Lord God, we light this candle to thank You for Your Son our Savior Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world. We who have sat in darkness have seen a great light, the light of Jesus Christ, our salvation. We give You thanks and praise in Jesus' name, because He lives and reigns with You in Your glory, and in the unity of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Read Isaiah 60:2-3

More photos to come! Until then...

2010 MJHS Prom

I just found this is my drafts...so I will post it as is...

It's been a while hasn't it? A lot has happend since February. Currently I am sitting in a hotel. We left the house last night because we didn't have electricity for over 6 hours. That gets old quicky when you have 4 children. We were some of the lucky ones...we did not experience any flooding. Please pray for the people that have lost their homes and their lives. The Drury Inn on Donelson Pike was completely booked last night. It was like one big family here...everyone was very friendly..we all were here for a very similar reason.

Rich lost his grandmother (age 98) on February 14...Valentine's Day. We thought for sure that she would see 100...but it just wasn't in "the plans." I lost my cousin (age 27) on March 18. He was in a fatal car accident. Both were totally unexpected and our hearts are broken. I know that I have learned that there is no promise for tomorrow. Live each day to the fullest, just like Gram & Neal both did. I wonder if they know how much that they taught us? What would you do if today was your last day? Live~Laugh~Love

Trae's Senior prom was Saturday, May 1. There were tornado watches/warnings and enough rain to float an ark.

**Cinderella**

Tonight...Izabelle and Rich went to the "Me & My Guy" dance at Holy Rosary. They usually go to the Father/Daughter banquet with her homeschool group but they have cancelled it. The lady that usually organized it decided that she just didn't have time..and noone else stepped up to the plate. But thankfully we heard of this event just in time!

We ran out of daylight..so I had to take photos inside..it is my least favorite. So thankful for Picnik!

I love the first photo below..she is beautiful. Thank you Yaya for fixing Izzy's hair....

2nd photo: Cinderella & her prince.

Snow storm...

We got more snow yesterday...it was considered a snow storm actually. It is now 2:00am..(can't sleep) and it is sleeting..has been for several hours now. It is going to be messy when Rich leaves for work in a little while...thankfully his boss made him take a Hummer home. They are made like a tank..can't imagine that it would have any trouble in this weather.

First photo: Izabelle sending Flat Stanley on his way to Florida! He is ready to escape this (odd) Tennessee weather.

Second photo: Our street..early yesterday afternoon.

Third photo: Our house..around 9:45pm last night. The snow is just beautiful..don't you think?

***I am actually getting sleepy..gonna go try to go to sleep this time.***
